Hartpury v Pirates.

Team up for tomorrows match v Pirates 2.30 pm K.O maybe for those who don't wish to venture too deep into the Forest :D
( Cinderford V Cambridge K.O at 3 pm ) National One.

Pirates started well beating Richmond last week and fielding a very strong side for the trip up to Pury.

15 Carwyn Penny 14 Callum Sirker 13 Rory Parata 12 Tommy Wyatt 11 AJ Cant 10 Arwel Robson
9 Ruaridh Dawson 1 James Kenny 2 Tom Channon 3 Patrick Schickerling 4 Josh Caulfield
5 Danny Cutmore 6 Matt Bolwell 7 John Stevens (C) 8 Tom Duncan
Replacements
16 James Benjamin 17 Alfie Petch 18 Hayden King 19 Lewis Pearson 20 Caleb Montgomery
21 Alex Schwarz 22 Harry Bazalgette 23 Joe Elderkin

Gibson who I think is a fantastic prospect at Openside isn't selected this week as John Stevens is club captain . Hope Alex Brown travels over and takes a look at Danny Cutmore though. Player out of the same mould as Alex and worth a close look at IMO; as would have Gibson who will get snapped up by a Premiership side before long.

Healthy crowd too, second best in the Championship. It's remarkable how they manage to get so many given where they're situated, about 3x what Cinderford get, who are a traditional club, in town and top of their league to boot.

Freshers week, lots of students... seemed busier than most times I've been there.

! wonder if GRFC gave any 'encouragement' for student freshers at Uny of Glos - seems daft not to.

Funny old game.
‘Pury beat Pirates. Ealing smashed ‘Pury.
So Ealing easily beat Pirates yesterday…?
Nope.

As Ealing’s Director of Rugby, Ben Ward said, “It was a tough, competitive game.”

“Hartpury let us take the initiative early on, but for twenty minutes in the second half they were in complete control of the match.”

“In fact, they never really let us get going even in the first half, despite the score-line. I think both sides will take positives from the match, but we’ve both got some work-ons as well.”
