Wow they're some holier than thou types on SW - but for one to be the referee is a bit pious - and to then state what he did is is a bit hypocritical isn't it ?? I'm pleased actually as nobody should really be up on a pedestal.

Nobody but the very most dull person has been blameless and done/said nothing wrong. I will have a lot more respect for a "worldly" individual than a dull and beige wannabe "vicar". And I state that as a church-going Christian.

As for Trump, Biden and Harris. The first is a deranged and dangerous megalomaniac from "celebrity-land", the second a genuine guy in his last-chance saloon and the latter a switched-on cookie who will ascend to ultimate power - probably deservedly so.

The main problem with the US is the people who live there. IMVHO obviously !! ;)

On this part of the post, I agree with Mute. There I've said it.

I will also observe that as a white, senior, church-goer he would be bang in the middle of the Trump base support in the US. Its amazing when you look at other countries politics from outside the bubble, how much easier it is to see with clarity.

As for Trump, Biden and Harris. The first is a winner and successful businessman, the second an apologist for the KKK who delivered eulogies for a Grand Wizard of the Klan at the funeral, KKK established by the Democrats, and the latter an Ex DA who sent more Blacks to jail during her tenure than any previous, and supports free choice abortion up to the time of natural birth at full gestation

The main problem with the US is the people who live there. IMVHO obviously !! ;)

Trump lost most of his Dad's money and only survived by borrowing about $400M against his assets. Successful businessman? I think not. Tump's Apprentice earnings helped rescue his failing empire. Documents show president earned $427m from NBC reality show – which he used to cover vast real estate and casino losses. Yes he won the Election but then promptly enriched his, already rich mates, whilst trying to ditch the free healthcare used by his poor redneck voters. Picked up the Mexican vote, but built the wall. Got the black vote but hates BLM. In the meantime his republican friends in California are under Investigation for placing un-authorised / illegal ballot boxes in certain key voting districts. The bloke has a Narcissistic personality disorder. What is telling is that only 42% of US Citizens have passports as opposed to 76% in the UK and we're called insular. On Radio 2 today, his mate Piers Morgan, who correctly, kept saying he would win the 2016 election, doesn't believe he'll win the next one, due to the poor C-19 response and, more telling, a growing tiredness of his "self promotion". Biden has a 20% lead in the polls but who knows how the vote will turn out.

Bod - I don't think altering other people's posts (so they state something totally different to the original) is acceptable behaviour.

Administrators ?? Is this allowed ??

I wrote : "As for Trump, Biden and Harris. The first is a deranged and dangerous megalomaniac from "celebrity-land", the second a genuine guy in his last-chance saloon and the latter a switched-on cookie who will ascend to ultimate power - probably deservedly so."

Bod has changed my quote to read : "As for Trump, Biden and Harris. The first is a winner and successful businessman, the second an apologist for the KKK who delivered eulogies for a Grand Wizard of the Klan at the funeral, KKK established by the Democrats, and the latter an Ex DA who sent more Blacks to jail during her tenure than any previous, and supports free choice abortion up to the time of natural birth at full gestation."

Can someone get a grip of posters please ?? IF not it will start to make a mockery with every Tom, Dick (emphasis on that word) and Harry altering "original quotes".

We'll check GM. As I understand it you can only use two quotes max, which is why I had to delete 2 in my post, to get the character count down, but I don't believe you can alter those embedded quotes.

Thank you. I know what I originally wrote and you can see same. Bod has then planted other words into my quote.

Makes a mockery of the site if allowed.

I think you are a wonderful chap from Dursley and never know why I have criticised you in the past. Bod meantime is a Grade A plonker (from I believe Bath)

When you quote a post, your post simply includes a copy of the original post text wrapped in the wherewithal to make it look like a quote. This means that you can edit it just as your own text.

It’s an easy gag to alter a previous post for comedic effect, I’ve certainly done it, and it can work quite well in the right context. But if used as a means of purposeful traduction the original poster is well within their rights to take umbrage I think..

Altering a quoted post to misrepresent the original poster is unsporting. Please refrain from doing so.
Hopefully, this text should be smaller and less prominent than the words above it...
