Anyone lying but in reality government ones are more relevant as they are in power. The example originally given about manifesto pledges doesn’t apply of course to the losers. For what it’s worth I think the level of lying has ramped up dramatically since Johnson has been in charge. He lies are well documented as both a journalist, a politician and as a husband.

FWIW I would have have prosecuted him (with Bush) at the International Criminal Court for war crimes (Bush, of course would have been exempt because the USA doesn't recognise the body). However he is famous for one big lie, with Johnson it's almost every time he speaks.
He was sacked from the DT for lying and even to-day slagged off Starmer for living in Islington, even though he also lived there for 10 years. The man is a buffoon, as are most Politicians, who treat it as a career from Uni rather getting as proper job and then going into it. I hardly think Uni, political researcher, general dogsbody to an MP then MP is giving anybody a true view of the country.

Socialist and Labour politicians are no angels either. Get real.

Who are you quoting there? Do you understand how quotation marks work, you can't just make things up and put them in quotation marks and assign them to someone.
I found a story of a Times journalist who assigned a quote to a historian about how Edward II and Piers Gaveston were cavorting in the Rose Palace. The fact that Gaveston was executed before the Palace was built kind of undermined the story and presumably annoyed the historian. The journalist was sacked of course. Anyone care to guess who this was?
"They are all as bad as each other .. " is a lazy trope, and not one I agree with. Not by a long chalk.

I don't think I'm alone on SW in getting totally bored by your non-stop attacks on the PM and the Govt. You have made your point considerable times but please give your incessant moaning a rest.
We know where your support sits. You tell us every day, sometimes several times.

We have a racist, homophobic PM who is incompetent and lies incessantly and we should not criticise or remind people of these facts?
Re: O/T - General Politics thread
When this was flagged as a stumbling block back in the day it was shouted down as Project Fear and the solution was “technology”. Unless social media are lying to us (perfectly feasible) there has been significant unrest in the province for the last 4 nights. I say social media as it’s barely mentioned on the BBC or in the press.
Were we lied to by liars and if not what is the solution which escapes me?
