Premier players taking the knee

Hmmm. I’m immensely proud to be a Gloucester fan. Just one player out of 23 chose not to take the knee, and only 4 out of 23 from Wuss.
I am effectively firmly in the RA camp on who I would ever, ever kneel for. And not ashamed/intimidated to say the same. I wonder how many PRL players are doing it simply to "go with the flow" ??
How long do you expect these visible "theatrics" (IMHO) to go on Leb ?? For ever ??

Oh and welcome back GM

Re: Premier players taking the knee
“As Gloucester Rugby Players and active members of society we would like to release the following statement.
“We are united in our stance against racism and discrimination. As a team, we respect and encourage each other, as individuals, to educate ourselves and each other on the issues facing people of colour. The awareness raised by professional athletes plays an important role in showing support for this historical issue that still remains within society today. We believe education must be at the forefront of meaningful change.
Re: Premier players taking the knee
Whilst the message is driven by the players themselves, we stand right by their side in the fight against racism.

Good Day Martyn..
2 questions If I may kind sir....
1 - Why have you shared these photos when you had previously reassured me that these would remain private between the two of us
2 - The clarity of the photo looks amazing, so did you buy that lamination machine after all ? (for preservation purposes if I recall correctly?)
Jaysus wept .... get a room you 2 and dont post it on here!!

Not sure why you think I’d know, I’m not orchestrating them! However I would suspect the answer is until things actually change. The biggest obstacle, IMO, is people who don’t think there’s even a problem, and this thread alone has shown there are plenty of them.
FWIW I completely respect Ruan’s decision if it was because of his religious beliefs.
Re: Premier players taking the knee
That’s their decision, as is/are every other team.
I’m pretty sure that those Saints players didn’t all make that decision on religious grounds, or because they think racism doesn’t exist.

A question simply to clarify, Leb.
Does your last paragraph mean that if Ruan's decision was not because of his religious beliefs (although I'm sure it was) you would not respect it?
Herein lies the problem and I alluded to it in my previous post. One should not draw any conclusions from a person not "taking the knee".
It is much more important to judge people on how they are throughout their life in regard to racism, rather than only by an overt demonstration of anti-racism.
Re: Premier players taking the knee
Continual forbearance and quiet actions NOT one-off theatrics (IMHO).
