Very much so. I remember as a kid watching him and Sadiq play for a David Shepherd invitation XI versus the County at the old BNS cricket ground in Brockworth for Shep’s testimonial They had been signed by the county. But had yet to play for them.

Have got their autographs...but they are in Arabic they hadn’t learnt English at this point. A great pair and part of an iconic period in the County’s history....

Wish they were playing for the 'Shire this weekend. Having a very tough time v Somerset following a fast start. Unlike GRFC who favour the slow start and fast finish !!

We really did need them. This is the situation with one day to go !!

DAY 3 OF 4
AUG 22 to 25 August

Somerset
237 all out
223-1 dec
V
Gloucestershire
76 all out
63-8
Suspended: Bad Light - Gloucestershire need 322 runs to win

I love the 'Shire but the sportsman in me hopes that Zummerzet don't get thwarted by the weather. Or does it !?!?

I think we might get lucky with the weather, maybe the sportsman in you would be slightly happier if we managed to come out and survive a few overs at the end of the day tomorrow. Although if the last 2 days are anything to go by anything more than 5 overs could be tricky!

Hopefully Jack Leach and James Anderson can travel up from Southampton to Taunton to give advice to our 10 and 11 !!

Agreed though. If the Wurzels are given 5 overs to get our 2 wickets that would be a sporting finale.
