If it was a County match the home team would be penalised / fined because of that wicket.

Nice new stadium, lights have been faulty and as the evening goes on the dew makes the ball wet.

After losing the first test, the Indians have found a couple of wickets that are practically impossible to survive spin bowling.

So picking 3 fast bowlers was a great decision. Even Root got 5-8 ffs!

The fact that Joe Root is getting 5-8 would suggest the issue is in the preparation of the pitch rather than our team selection!

Moeen Ali went home which didn't help. I can understand the idea behind picking 3 quicks although it was clearly wrong!

The problem was the batting.

One would hope that the ICC would investigate the pitch. For 30 wickets to fall in a day and a half simply can't be right - however the batsmen got out and whoever won/lost.

Doesn't do much for the credibility of Test cricket.

Prepared for the spinners. Aren't they almost always in India. So why pick 3 (4 if you include Stokes) quickies? Yes our batting was poor but India struggled 1st innings, maybe even more if we'd made sensible bowling selections.

Not often in recent years have we picked both Broad & Anderson in the same Test, it's usually been on or the other on rotation.

So bowling selection and possibly batting first 2 poor decisions. But, I agree, after India were stuffed in the 1st Test they've been ploughing the wickets. Up to the players to learn and adapt fast.
