Must be a slow news day..

Hartley with 97 caps (how was there not more competition for that shirt?) but 60 weeks of bans being cited as the reason for inclusion.. reason aplenty to leave him out, IMO.

Ashton got 44 caps and chose to take the euro, so not really unlucky..

Plenty of ours in there, past and present, but there could have been many more..

Alex Brown
Andy Hazell
Ryan Lamb
Iain Balshaw
Anthony Allen
Henry Paul
Sinbad
Django
Narraway
Tom Beim
Tom Voyce
Phil Greening

And that’s just from recent times..
Hopefully, this text should be smaller and less prominent than the words above it...

Of that list of Glos players the only unlucky ones would be Sinbad, and perhaps Django.

The rest faced too much competition or there were other issues involved.

Looking forward to Madders listing every English qualified player at the club plus at least one who is not qualified.

The one to really miss out from your list was Ryan Lamb. All the others did get a full England cap. He didn't.

One that i was gutted for was Peter Buxton who got injured in the Premiership Final when he'd been named to tour South Africa.

I know, and if I was someone like him, or either Burns brother I would have be scouring the family tree for any international connections.. I mean, if it’s less likely they would break into the england squad, any of those three in their pomp would probably have been long term solid starters for say Italy.. ok not the same money involved, but a handy bit of bunce..

A shocking reason to wear an international shirt.
