Not convinced by the like/dislike buttons or their relevance. A quick flick through some of the topics, suggests to me that the dislike button is being used gratuitously on certain member's posts. I'm not clear, if the dislike button is clicked, what is disliked about the post. If you don't agree with a post, why not give reasoned arguments against it.

Oh more difficult decisions in my life  ;)

So maybe the buttons should say ‘Agree’ and ‘Disagree’ then?

It would appear that some individuals have the ability to set-up a default 'dislike' on their devices as I am seeing plenty of them going back through last week.

What we don't want is people using the like / dislike button instead of posting a comment, as long as it's sensible & contributes course.

What we do want is people using the like / dislike button instead of posting a comment, when it isn't sensible, funny or doesn't contribute, of course !

With the like/ dislike buttons the site resembles the Citizen and will become a Troll magnet.

Will it? I've barely looked at the like/dislike figures of the comments I'm reading.

Maybe just remove the dislike button.

Don't like to brag but I gathered about 37 dislikes from one posting. Unsure whether most even read it !!

IMHO I think it's an unnecessary gimmick that SW didn't/doesn't need.
Nothing wrong with free speech or having an opinion - as long as it matches mine !!
