Next up Saints

12 Jan 2021 18:02 pm:

With the postponement of Challenge Cup and Champions Cup matches, Gloucester now have an enforced break of 2 weeks. Some welcome this as an opportunity to rest players and for injuries and niggles to be overcome Other views are that Prem matches could be brought forward from the 6 Nations period, plus other options.
Whilst we may bemoan the gap in games, one might spare a thought for our next opponents, Northampton, which is scheduled for 30 January 2021. Their last game was on 26 Dec 2020 at home to Worcester, bringing them a welcome win. Does this mean that they will be fresh and ready to go, or, ring rusty and vulnerable?

It all depends on the quality of their training and their schedule.

With two games cancelled surely that equates to a three week break between matches.

Don’t think it matters where they are. We gotta focus on continuing the improvements to all aspects of our game and the result will sort itself.

It’s goodbye to May, Harris, LRZ, Varney etc, but of course will mean the same for Saints with Biggar, Lawes etc.

Honestly can’t see how the six nations can go ahead. Before travelling across borders to their respective matches you test at your home end and then test at the away venue if all clear game on if not what?

Then when you come home repeat testing wait for result then return. Repeat for the next game?
have the logistics about how it will work been released by the six nations?

In their respective club bubbles players are relatively safe, but then you mix them all up in national teams and then travel across borders to France and Italy?

Would be nice to see Kveseladze involved but by the looks of his social media he is still in Georgia!

If the six nations does go ahead do we think that’s why Thorley has been kept in the shadows the last few weeks, so Eddie doesn’t take him along and not play him?!
