You've got to laugh, he only take 2 scrum halves to a World Cup but picks three in a 28 man squad.

The usual nonsense "apprentices" in that shadow squad. Thorley not even in that. Glad we can get him a good run of games now.

Whilst I agree it will be good to have Thorley available to us I am sure the players called up to the shadow squad don't think it's a nonsense.

My guess is they will be delighted to know they are EJ thoughts and have the potential opportunity to show what they can do.

Genuine question: has anyone seen anything from Thorley this season to suggest he's international class? For me he's been bang out of form and needs to recapture what we saw in the past. Hopefully he can, because at his best he was scarily good.

I'm sure they don't. A few injuries away from a big payday.

But when these names are above Spencer, Simmonds S, Simmonds J, Sinckler, T Hill, etc. etc. you've got to wonder what selection is based on.

Born in Slough David not Sennybridge I'm afraid . :D

Well Marler back again. I am sure he enjoyed that short retirement. Alun Wyn will be wary... :)

Harry and Paolo still have plenty of chances to change allegiances, they haven't been capped yet and I doubt they'll got a chance this season.

How many ex Hartpury players are in that England squad that don't play for Gloucester ?

Re: Thorley - he's not played well but I do wonder why he's been selected for the Eng squad for the last couple of years now, but only has 1 cap.

Eddie will have seen alot of him in training and will have given him areas to develop / improve his game, lets hope we see him back on form very soon.

Nope, on this seasons performances he is nowhere near.

I wonder if he’s lost his confidence being on the edge of England but not quite making an impact.

His handling needs a lot of work, not confident under the high ball.
