Have no fear, Westy is alive and well and fully occupied with bringing on his new batch of poteen. His new leprechaun friends have amended his computer settings so he no longer has to visit the site of the unmentionables whenever he logs on. The rage is subsiding.

lucifer has it almost right - I have made soda bread, but not yet the juice of the potato ... poitín, incidentally, is used over here as an embrocation for race horses, to cure arthritis in humans ... and to make you fall over.

Yes, I've got over the hissy fit, thanks. It comes as small consolation to know that my frustration was shared by quite a number of others.

Oh, and I'm getting to like McGargles' Big Banging' IPA, at 7.1% abv ...

Managed to get BT Sport as part of my Sky package over here, so I'll be watching the games live in future ... be very afraid ...
