Thanks Tony and good luck.

I will always remember him intervening when I think Duncan McRae got bent in half in a ruck, and he wrapped himself around the player to effect a safe ground position in which the paramedics/doctors could treat him.

And telling Dawson/Dallaglio that if they were after cards they should go to WH Smith

Opened this one with trepidation- Spreaders being a gentleman of a certain age but was pleased to see he is moving on to bigger and better things. Top ref and a top bloke.

I remember someone posting about Spreaders refereeing a significant game on a Saturday then turning up Sunday morning in Bath for mini rugby. A terrific bloke.
It may have been a International.
They don’t like it up ‘em.

Is that a retirement from the RFU , or was he pushed? Glad to hear he's moving on and not leaving the sport.

Didn't he ref us at the 2003 Cup Final ?

Good ref, applied common sense and had a sense of humor and always looked to let the game flow.....seemed so much simpler then compared to now. Good luck Spreaders

A very attractive package/opportunity. Nothing sinister at all....
