Ah! - a digital solution.

SWA, you don't need to do anything, it's the rest of us.

Forum rules
ShedWeb reserves the right to remove any contribution that does not meet these rules of conduct:

Comments and contributions to forum threads or posts should be descriptive, succinct, and relevant to discussion or forum topic.

To better facilitate conversation, moderators may move off-topic threads to another appropriate forum, close threads or delete off-topic posts at their discretion.

To maintain quality of discussions, contributions that do not provide a substantive purpose or relevance may be removed.

We encourage members to have open and candid discussions and debates. We will not censor members for expressing an opinion within the limits of these rules of conduct. However, all communications should be civil and polite. Members should treat each other with respect and consideration for all points of view.

The forum may not be used to post, transmit or provide hyperlinks or pointers to material that is knowingly false and/or defamatory; contain ad hominem attacks, misleading, inaccurate, abusive, vulgar, hateful, harassing, obscene, profane, sexually oriented, threatening or invasive of a person's privacy; that otherwise violates any law; or that encourages conduct constituting a criminal offence.

Users are encouraged to discuss and share business knowledge and experiences. To ensure that all users will get the most out of the experience, the following linking policies are in effect to curb self-promotion and spam. Posts that do not adhere to these policies may have their links disabled or be removed.

The forum may not be used to post, transmit or provide hyperlinks or pointers to press releases, newsletters, websites, or any other type of content that promote one's commercial business, product or service or does not address the thread's topic without permission from the site administrator.

Email excerpts of any type or length are not allowed to be posted in community forums, blogs or other tools.

To protect the privacy of members, and the privacy of others and to comply with the Data Protection Act, members should not include others' personal information or personally identifiable information such as names, addresses, phone numbers or e-mail addresses in any thread. However, you may choose to make your own personal information public if you wish.

Forums may not be used to advertise or promote businesses, products or services. Posts that contain such information will be considered abuse and removed, unless prior permission has been given by the site administrator.

Forums may not be used to post material that is protected by copyright, trademark or other proprietary right without the express permission of the owner(s) of said copyright, trademark or other proprietary right.

Posting the same message, or an unsolicited commercial message to one or many topics or boards is considered spam and will be removed. Duplicate messages may be deleted.

Access Permissions: Certain forums are limited to specific registered users and it is at the site administrators discretion as to who is given access to these.

Abusive and harassing behaviour or any actions that violate these rules of conduct may result in suspension of your ability to post to forums and other member-contributed areas. Account suspensions may be appealed to the site administrator.

Sometimes, a discussion thread strays off into a friendly dialogue or a heated debate among a very small number of users. For these exchanges, we ask that you either take these discussions outside the forum or use private messages. Private messages are visible to the site administrator only and are stored in the database.

This is a public forum and so anything published is in the public domain, and visible for anyone to read. Therefore, exercise caution with anything you think may be confidential, politically sensitive or may otherwise show the forum in a negative light.

If you have any questions or concerns about any of the above, please contact shedweb@outlook.com

For all the bluster, do the facts support that the number of posts and/or posters on here is declining? It seems quite vibrant to me.

While I understand some of the frustrations with RTS’ posts he seems good natured and well intentioned to me.

The problem with ‘social ‘ media where posters do not know each other personally is that good natured banter to one is taken as offensive trolling by another. ( eg the cause of Asgard disappearing). Similarly an attempt at a humorous aside can be interpreted as a sarcastic put down. The posting equivalent of rugby handbags follows.
I suppose the emojis are there to help though I for one don’t know what half of them mean!
The long list of rules above don’t allow for such differences in interpreting the same message.
I’d add one more rule...”Don’t take this stuff too seriously”.

At the time I posted, "please don't do this". I was worried that the bile produced on that thread would ultimately infect every other thread on the site. I was subsequently proved correct. I don't know if there is a way back now and ultimately, it is Shedweb Admin's choice about how the site moves forward. (Even in its present state, I remain grateful to SWA taking the time to ensure that the site still exists).

As an aside, I couldn't help to see the irony in a previous poster's comment about how wonderful the KC site was apart from somebody called Adder.

Presumably that’s a jibe at me. Thanks for that. For those who don’t remember the KC, it was a great forum where discussions often ruined by said individual. The old rivals site, which I believe was a precursor to the current site was very good until the KC closed its doors.

I’m one who is critical of GM because I get fed up with his constant rudeness towards other posters, he seems to see Shedweb as some kind of competition where “getting one over someone” is what is important. Instead of writing “I disagree with you because if a, b and c” he will often insult other posters rather than discuss the topic. This place should be like a club bar, a place to have fun and discuss Glaws. It’s starting to turn into something more toxic, I hope it can be turned around.

To clarify, no that wasn't a jibe at you. Sorry if I wasn't clear with my comment regarding irony.

This is all utterly ridiculous. The rudest and most unpleasant poster on this site attention seeking and lamenting the halycon days of a bygone era where everyone played happily in the school yard, except (according to those who were there) the one seeking attention and lamenting the halycon days……………

Positively Borisesque.
