I too wondered this when I watched the highlight's. Burns was there giving trinder a good old slap on the back before Barnes had even got round to seeing the ball grounded and blowing his whistle.

Saying that, Barnes understands the emotion in the game so probably thought nothing of it.

Technically, if they had encroached on the field of play there would have been an issue. However, according to the laws of the game the field of play ends at the try line 8-)

Doubt it. Happens at pretty much most games.

I remember a try being scored against us where the opposition player high-fived a replacement who was in the in goal area before putting the ball down. I'm sure that should've been a penalty for us but went unnoticed by the officials. Sooner or later one team is going to slip up there.
