This is a pathetic attempt to create controversy to sell a book that probably wouldn't sell otherwise.
Interesting he puts all blame on SL, correct me if I'm wrong but he led a review into 2011 RWC and all blame went on MJ. Common denominator is both appointed by RA.
Doubtless if England win in 2019 he will try take credit for appointing EJ.

Load of Tosh

Bomber had very little to do with why Burgess was in the England Squad. The RFU spent a fortune getting him to change codes and there was no way he was ever not going to play. During the reign of Bomber, and even before that with MJ, the RFU were only interested in having a puppet they could control as head coach. See any SCW interview about him applying for the DOR role post his success and how they kept changing the job description last minute to limit what he could do.

Unfortunately, it has taken a distasterous home World Cup for the old boys club that is the RFU to realise things had to change!

I wonder if the ban on Squeeky still applies. Hope so. A maggot of the first order.

I do wonder how he can absolve himself of any of the blame here. It's probably quite hard to disagree with a lot of what went on in the lead up to the World Cup but Andrews had a big role in a lot of it. If he were unaware of the things going on that is a failure in the governance of the organisation. If he didn't do anything to prevent things going wrong then that's a failure on his part as well as Lancaster's.

I wasn't aware of the ban imposed on him. Hope it's still in force!

It was one of the great moments at Kingsholm when Tom Walkinshaw walked out into the middle of the pitch prior to kick-off and announced it.

The ban was lifted, following a climb down and apology from Squeaky.

It meant that we could all enjoy the entire ground singing "Are you watching Rob Andrew?" as Gloucester stuffed Newcastle 60 point to 9 in the Zurich playoffs later that year. It's the one where Phil Simpson-Vickery scores from miles out and Sinbad sets up a try for Tom Beim with an outrageous bit of skill.
