seasons stats

I realise for some this is a bit stato but I like to actually look at the numbers as it sometimes shows things that don't catch the eye.
Below are two charts showing some of the stats for out team over the first 6 rounds of the Prem. I have normalised them to equate to a full 80 minute game, so comparison is easier.

A few things jump out to me
- Rowan is actually doing more tackling per minute than Ludlow !!!
- Braley likes to run ( when he gets on !!)
- Most players are getting stuck into the workload
- one or two of our backs are not tackling well enough.
Beyond that you can draw your own conclusions !!!

How many minutes has Callum Braley played? I would have thought his stats might be anomalous given the lack of data

Quite correct. Braeley has only played 21 and thus is an anomaly. I had removed anyone who hadn't done 40 mins on the pitch but not edited Braley out.

How is the tackle ratio derived?

I can see a lot of work has gone into this, but the use of line charts is not very helpful as they are not representing trends. Why not use a scatter chart? That would really show individuals' respective strengths.

Funny enough I was just looking at the stats on Prem Rugby.

Funny how results and stats don't always tell the full story

Glaws team stats:
2nd - metres gained
2nd - most carries
2nd - clean breaks
1st - most passes
2nd - most tackles

On player stats, interesting to see Jonny May flying high

Scatter chart? I would have thought the nature of the data is such that a bar chart would be more illustrative.

With eight different data-sets on the Y axis? That's going to be hard to read.

Happy to try any option. The idea was to compare how the different team members had performed their different tasks. I coldn't get excel to list the players names aprt from with the line graph.
The tackle ratio is merely the ratio of succesful/ failed tackle attempts. With the other charts it could be harder to see who has done better than who
