I don t go back as far as some but I agree with Gadd and Trinder. Ludo would be nailed on for France if he was playing today as would Boer for SA (IMHO) Catling also comes to mind. What about Deacs ? I recall Buxton being on the plane but then got crocked.

Not quite - Ludo was indeed French, and Jake a South African, but neither was capped, and are therefore both qualified for this thread

Ludo unfortunately doesn't qualify , as he never gained residency rights. ( 2 x 2 year stints )[/quote]

He means for SA and France. The thread is about non capped players...not necessarily for England.

Agree about deacs. Vickery want ever an automatic call when deacs was available. Same could be said for windo and Woodman.

Mickey Booth and Richard Mogg. Booth would have had 50 caps if he had played for Quins. (An opinion shared by most of the rugby correspondants of the day)

Totally agree with Coleser and others, has to be 'Moggy'? I totally understand other favourites and it's era related too but us 'old gits' remember one of the most gifted players of his generation. In a 9 man dominated Gloucester side he was a stand out player. Richard Mogg every time.

Moggy and Paul Ashmead for me.

Did Steve Boyle get about one or two caps? If not I'd be thinking of him too.
