Mickey Booth without doubt. The England selectors preferred the likes of Nigel Starmer-Smith who played for Quins; no change there then!

Starmer-Smith, born in Chelt & went to Barnwood School I believe, although he never really mentioned this.

Dickie Jeeps was Mickey Booth's nemesis not Starmer-Smith, he came a bit after didn't he ?

Quite bizarre that he went on to be CEO of Bournemouth FC, went from the Cherry & Whites to the Cherries 8-)

Mickey Booth : Glos diehard and epitomised everything the other clubs in the country hated about our style and effectiveness - sacrilegious to think others played in that white shirt ahead of him
John Gadd, without a doubt head and shoulders above any blindside back in those days : Bath's Simpson and Moseley's Jeavons were a pale impersonation...a complete travesty.
Tony Windo : what a legend for us then went onto Worcester and played another 200 odd games for them : remember watching him for our Utd with Deacs on the other side.....Kev white and Kev Dunn between the two : happy days !
James Forrester
Chris Catling
Nic Wood
Henry Trinder
and definitely, last but certainly not least, especially being one of only 4 Glos players to have played 500+ games for the Club : Richard Mogg : he could still teach some of our current fancy-dans how to tackle !!!
Thinking he's still the only one to have played in 3 Cup Finals ??....

Good thread !
