New Zealand v France

Enjoyable first half in the first game of the day. Chapeau to Luke Pearce who always looks like a teenager trying to look old enough to get a pint in a pub. Got the vast majority right in his first top level international.
If you can meet with Triumph and Disaster and treat those two impostors just the same.

However, he’s just completely screwed up a penalty and yellow card against France. Resulted in a try for ABs and France down to 10. He’s just won the game for the ABs. Easy to get the straightforward decisions right. The one contentious one he gets completely wrong by not going to TMO. Not even a penalty

Terrible yellow card decision. With all the technology available these things shouldn't happen anymore.

That yellow card has cost 3 tries. ABs have just done exactly the same (actually worse) and he just gives a penalty. He really is an appalling referee when it comes to consistency

Luke Pearce is an appalling official. No idea how he is at this level. Bafflingly inconsistent decisions in any game I’ve watched him referee.

Not watching the game but that must have been a serious offence to yellow card 5 players !! :o ;)
The only problem with doing nothing is not knowing when you have finished.

No idea how he is even allowed to referee in the premiership. The fact that he’s reffing this game is a disgrace.

Just because he’s young doesn’t mean that he has to be pushed forward. If someone’s no good then they’re no good. How many more howlers does this lad need to have

Agree 're the yellow card he got that wrong, marginal decision but wrong.

But really...an "appaling" , "disgareceful" referee? Opinions and perspectives and all that but I don't see him as either of those things.

He is appalling when it comes to consistency. He gets the easy ones right but it seems his overconfidence in his decision making is flawed. We all think the TMO’s are poor these days but why not check before issuing cards. The scoreline was huge but all the momentum changed as a direct result of that call.
