Isn't this one of the arguments for doing away with relegation? If clubs can be secure in the knowledge that they won't risk missing out in future then they may be more inclined to rest players/give young players coming through a chance.

The majority of the players we talk about as suffering from burn out on here though play for clubs like Saracens who aren't too worried about relegation … at the moment anyway.
The only problem with doing nothing is not knowing when you have finished.

Granted, but it certainly helps the likes of Johnny Sexton stay fresh and Leinster still manage to stay top of the table!

Are you saying that Sexton stays fresh and Leinster win because they don't have to worry about being relegated ?

I am suggesting that because relegation is not a factor for pro-14 sides they will be able to take risks with selection that Premiership sides can't/won't which allows key players to rest for less high profile games.

That may well be true but as fans I want to see competitive games every game not like the pro 14 farce where they put out second teams to keep their stars for the big games. its IMVHO disrespectful to those who pay to watch

it may well be your VHO but it is exactly the reason that we are talking about player burn out in the first place. The top English players will have gone from World Cup to touring Australia to Lions tour against New Zealand and now in South Africa with full Premiership and Champions Cup campaigns as well. Somethings got to give.
