Jake to start for Italy

Anyone else get the feeling that we are witnessing the start of the career of one of the best players in the world?

An astonishing talent who is only going to get better.

I hope Humphreys has signed him up for the next 10 years or more!

I was going to say he is the new Parisse, but don’t think that goes far enough!

Bit early for that sort of comparison isn’t it?

Steady on fella. He's shown an awful lot of promise and had a few good games but ...

Just a feeling I have and nothing seems to disprove it yet.

I remember watching his debut here in Dublin and he was by far our best player

As Steve M says he has shown a lot of promise but has a long way to go before it’s fair to make comparisons with likes of Parisse who has been at top of international game for 10+ years. Don’t think Polledri needs that kind of pressure lumped on his young shoulders

Does anyone really think Polledri would have had a sniff of an England cap had he opted for that nationality?
The RFU have a record of ignoring talent ( Wunderkind Smith the exception, but then he plays for Quins) and sticking with mediocre. Look at Saturday’s team, where Robson could have been given a run. But no, they will return from SA having learned (and won) nowt. What a wasted opportunity.
I started off with nothing and I’ve still got most of it left.

Polledri tied himself to Italy a while back. Long before he would have even been mentioned with or thought about possibly playing for England.

I think Polledri would of had a sniff. I really don’t get it with Robson though, he’s v overrated in Shed.
