We missed Gareth Evans :D

(Obviously not a serious comment, but always thought he was a class sevens player).

Ever since they changed it from the regional pools and finals I've not been interested. 2 day event is too big for people to commit to for a casual fan. 3 hours of an evening is less so.

With player welfare etc. And also this time with World Cup it's no surprise its mostly kids and ringers

Prestigious?? Literally nobody gives a #### about it. That’s whats so sad.

As for slagging off our kids and coaches people, keep some perspective. We sent a bunch of kids. Some sent first teamers, some brought in specialist ringers. Criticise the ridiculous and meaningless tournament but give the lads a break.

What bugged me was we sent a bunch of kids. The tournament has been going for some years and we’ve won it before now sending a mix of squad and academy players. I think the club this year are guilty of disrespecting the tournament and not doing the players we sent any favours.

It is a strange tournament, but Sarries and Exeter still seem to be miles ahead of the rest as they are in the Premiership, plus Wasps who seem to have turned up with soem intent.
I agree that the attendance is pretty poor, lets see if it is better today. Would have prefered Wuss to have been in the plate with a final against Glos - more interest than getting thrashed by Exeter ( I assume )

Of the 7s tournaments outside of the world circus this is the biggest in the Uk in terms of sponsorship and tv coverage . Some clubs, including Gloucester in the past, take it reasonably seriously, 3 here definitely are. I can tell you if Gloucester had won it you wouldn't hear the end of it.

So in 7s terms I think that's prestigious. You can be abusive as you like but it won't change my view,

Why risk any of the 1st team squad for a minor 7’s tournament, it’s these kind of games when hamstrings get pulled.

All the 1st team need to do is focus on preseason.

Yes Gloucester were poor but we don’t have any 7’s specialists that I’m aware of and Gloucester do not have an active 7’s team.

Bigger fish to fry than some meaningless tournament in a empty stadium.
