RWC19 "Stuff"

Is that not the fear of every English supporter, we had to play better than that team has ever played before to beat the team most expected to win, there could well be a few injuries that mean even if May etc do play they might be less than 100% , can we play that well with such intensity next week time will tell, lets face it Glos fans have seen us peak too early several times and fall at the final hurdle, to have beaten Oz, NZ and SA in three weeks will surpass the 2003 win for me, I said back in early spring I had a feeling SA would win the WC, hope to be proved wrong
Might be true, but for Gatland (the coach of the losing semi-finalists) just seems tasteless. By all means, play the mind games if you're in the final against them, but that was an England performance vastly superior to anything Wales have shown this world cup.

The Japanese threatened SA with their expansive quick offload game and really lost because their execution and ability to compete at set piece and breakdown wasn’t good enough. Wales have the set piece and breakdown specialists and can also play that quick game. Why didn’t they? Kicking just played to SA game plan.
Why surprised? Wales haven’t played attacking rugby for 2 years or more.
you do talk some tosh bud. Cast your mind back to 23rd feb 2019.
And that my friend is why Wales didn't win the RWC. 'ah but we beat England eight months ago' doesn't provide enough ambition to win a World Cup. And scoring their only two tries in the last 12 minutes of that game in February hardly shouts 'attacking prowess' either.
Re: RWC19 "Stuff"
I reckon it has been the biggest thing holding back the home nations over the last 40 yrs. The " make sure we beat England" syndrome is hugely distracting. Eng have only been a benchmark in the last 50 yrs for about 3 yrs leading up to the 2003 WC. Apart from that NZ/ France/ SA/ Oz/ Wales etc have been at dfferent times. It is one of the reason why Eng have a far better record against the SH than the pther home nations. I would have thought that the various overseas coaches would have broken the stuck record but it seems not. I would rather beat NZ/ OZ or SA than any home nation
Re: RWC19 "Stuff"
Such a shame that Gatland can’t conduct himself with the class and dignity of Steve Hansen. Why he feels the need to comment on England is beyond me. Just wish the finalists good luck and go to 3rd place play off.

It's almost as if New Zealander Warren Gatland might have some sort of personal interest in the game!
Re: RWC19 "Stuff"
Hansen didn’t have to offer the journalist outside, that would have been a bit classier, IMO. (Question at 10:30)
Re: RWC19 "Stuff"
That’s true but ask a stupid question? At least he’s defending his team and players not commenting on something or digging at someone that has nothing to do with him.
I take your point tho.
Re: RWC19 "Stuff"
I’ve always thought Gatland has a huge chip on his shoulder. No doubt he is a great coach but snide comments like this prove the point to me

To be fair, it’s probably a coin toss whether many of us would have done the same, let’s be honest..

Compare Reid's response to this one...
