IMO its time WR did away with the haka anyway ...

I can't get too worked up about this. None of them will notice the loss of £500. They knew they were meant to stay in their own half and they choose not to. Hence a fine.

I assume that the Haka is included in he rugby world cup regulations that all the teams signed up to.

If any team wants to discuss whether the Haka should be allowed then raise it for discussion in the appropriate meeting.

There's a good article on the RFU financial position re. the World Cup in the Telegraph. It's kindly been copied out on the Wasps forum

Sounds a bit of a financial shambles....(cue a defence of the RFU and blaming the PRL)

Oh dear. Perhaps England's performance at the end of the Six Nations was a cunning plan to lower those insurance premiums. ;)

It always used to be done towards the crowd ( or so I was told) I think that would be more appropriate especially if the opposition don't have a similar response ( unlike Fiji etc.) It is also clear the hakka has been changed to make it more aggressive and adverserial. I can't see much heritage or tradition in that. I think there should be no obligation on the opposition to hhave to stand and face it.

Well the AB's are extremely precious about the Haka, when it should be done, what the opposition may or may not do etc.. They've turned it into a marketing tool (can't blame for that) but to the disregard of everyone else.

In many ways I was very pleased to see England's handling of it & then stuffing them. As good as the AB's are there is a high degree of entitlement about them.

As for fining England - I rest my case.

It will be interesting to see how Wales handle the Hakka on Friday. Not easy given all the chat in the last few days. I assume Gats won't allow anything radical ( being a Kiwi).
