Cipriani and especially Alex Goode WOULD have made a difference, strange hoe Farrell stayed on yet Ford was subbed. Farrell was well off the pace today.

They don’t like it up ‘em.

Yes I do.
No point in persisting with a game plan that has failed for 65 mins. If you don’t change things stay same.
This was a final though but I will concede that having played well week before the confidence was brimming over.
Taking nothing away from SA they were undoubtedly better team.

Ferret, fair enough and we will never know but watching the Leicester game and way he played 1st 40 shows how difficult it is for a 10, and 9 for that matter, to play behind a retreating pack.

Cipriani was totally anonymous today. Great player and so glad to have him, but it was not his best day. Could have taken a knock I dont know ,but not sure he would have influenced this particular RWC final. He will have many better days this season so lets look forward to that.

Firstly I think it was fantastic to see a black rugby player lifting the Webb Ellis Cup today. Many of us on Shedweb were part of the generation that saw South Africa shrug off apartheid and lift the Cup for the first time in 1995. The significance of Nelson Mandela handing the Cup to François Pienaar is a moment in history I am proud to have witnessed.

Secondly, it was fantastic to see Kolisi bringing his children on, and the other South African players bringing their children on, after the final whistle. That inclusion encompasses everything about the wonderful values that makes our sport so special. Equally the way in which the South African players went to each of the four sides of the stadium and bowed as one epitomise the values of our sport.

I think holding the Rugby World Cup in Japan has added phenomenal worth to the game of rugby, and hopefully has made us all better people.

Im a huge DC fan - but no way that he, or any other back, would have made a difference today. The game was lost up front. Yes Youngs had a shocker but ultimately it matters not. Regardless of the expansive game, you still have to be competitive up front - starting with the scrum - and England weren't.

That said - it's time for Watson to shift to 15!

What a brilliant RWC, 2019 was. Japan were awesome hosts and their team were fantastic. Some upsets, terrific games and great rugby. Well done SA ( I also backed them a couple of months ago at 9/1) and thank you England for putting 2015 behind us.

Cipriani playing on a wet afternoon in Leicester is a completely different thing to him playing in a World Final.

You know he would bring his A game and would have the ability to turn the match...
