Not too much reaction on here to news of Hinkley's departure. As it's been rumoured for a while perhaps any disappointment has blown itself out but take a look at GRFC's announcement on Facebook and there are 10s of posts expressing shock and sadness we've not retained an emerging talent (well at least in a Rob Baxter's eyes).
Now of course the Club may have made an offer we could afford and it's been rejected by the player, we can never be sure, and we don't know what's heading our way in terms of backrow resources following Kriel's exit but let's hope it's exciting news! And if the departure is because we're backing alternative Academy options, such as Josh Gray, let's hope he gets a few more opportunities than Hinkley did.

Just not feeling very good about Gloucester at the moment.

The Hinkley departure has been rumoured for a while and I'm sure like many, I had been told he had signed for Exeter. Does he really think he will get more game time there? In my opinion, a really poor bit of business. I'm sure someone will say that we don't have all the facts - but we have the only one that matters and we have lost another young player with huge potential.

He would be starting week in - week out for me.

That Singleton story was around several weeks ago in The Rugby Paper. I'd be happier to read about a top notch tighthead and openside.

You’ll be disappointed when they announce Jordy Reid as our new openside then.

But is now close to complete, not just a rumour. Would make sense now Leicester have signed a new hooker and kept Youngs

Fourie was just injury cover wasn’t he? I’ve not seen him on the unavailable list so I’d assumed he’d left.

Singleton could be a fantastic signing but he really need to sort his throwing out. He’s excellent in the loose but Sarries lineout has been dreadful at times this season when he’s been playing.

I totally get where you’re coming from. I too am struggling with the club at the moment, which is probably a combination of what I see on the field and what I see on here.

You’re right though, someone will say we don’t have all the facts - me! Lmao.

The reality is every single club has lost young talent and players they would dearly love to keep, with one obvious exception, but no need to go there. Obviously we focus on Glos but every other club, bar one, has suffered exactly the same. I’ve always been a big fan of Hinkley, and I also have a bit of a tenuous connection although I won’t go into that, but there are almost certainly a whole load of factors I’m not party to.
