Rumours
Re: Rumours
What exactly are fans hoping for? The signing of beauden Barrett or 1995 peak Lomu?
Not exactly sure when glaws fans turned into such spoilt brats. I remember not so long ago when the fans were happy to see 15 lads giving their all for the shirt. It now seems many on here have ideas far beyond our station and you can sense it on match days and around the club.
Yeh we haven’t been great this season but so much of the negativity right now has come from the fans. Right now we should be bloody thankful and relieved that sarries are relegated and just concentrate on improving and not moaning at every single move YOUR CLUB makes.
Re: Rumours
+1
Plus they were never going to announce any new signings today. Any goodwill that'd gain would have been killed if we lose tomorrow. You can bet they have some news up their sleeves for Monday and Tuesday next week.
Re: Rumours
Could it be that with the Six Nations tied up after tomorrow (if English and until Italy rearranged), it may prove less distracting for an incoming player?!
Get the frustration after Lance said what he said Wednesday, but we will just have to be even more patient I guess.
Re: Rumours
I know when someone is taking the p*ss, remember we only got Cipriani due to his circumstances changing before the RWC and being in the right place at the right time, he was never really targeted by us.
So far we have signed a lad who was passed over by Exeter and Edinburgh and a lad who has been comfortable in the Championship, come on.
I don’t know if anyone has noticed but not only are we tumbling down the table ( when most other teams are weakened due to Internationals) but we are playing very poorly too.
My reference to Sam Hammam is ringing true.
Re: Rumours
I agree we need to be patient. We've been promised exciting news on signings and, with all due respect to our new flanker who I hope turns into a success as Q and K were from the Championship, one assumes we will hear more next week. However, I have to admit to a bit of envy when I look south and see Radrdadra, Sinkler, Malins and Earl all arriving at Ashton Gate as I would have taken any of them and they'll take some matching as signings in terms of quality and/or promise.
We all watch the same match but each of us sees a different game

Hold on Madders, you’d pack the England squad with Glos players so why are you moaning about the state of our squad?
Re: Rumours
Malins and Earl for one year? No thanks. Bristol clearly going all out to win the title next year, very short term thinking no matter how ambitious.
On paper we should lose tomorrow. They're bang in form, we're not, they're at home and they're not missing as many as us. But it's a dry forecast and we're underdogs which often suits us.
However nick a win, announce a couple of good signings early next week and peace may break out on this board. And certain posters might ease up on the club for a couple of hours and remember that a couple of months ago we were a top 4 side.

Ideas above our station? We were 4th last season so we should have. Ye olde guard said the same about Exeter. A good job Exeter just ignored them and carried on. The saving grace is that Sarries are going down as we'd be prime candidates. I would suggest that the negativity from the supporters is directly related to the negativity on the pitch and currently I don't see that changing until we adapt the game plan currently being used, as it's blatantly not working. On the other hand I'll be heading to the Ricoh hoping we don't get a drubbing, which is very likely.

Why is it short term thinking? They’re improving their squad, gives them a year to either try and convince those players to stay or find alternatives. Bristol have been building to be champions ever since they targeted promotion, they clearly have a long term plan.
