On paper we should lose tomorrow. They're bang in form, we're not, they're at home and they're not missing as many as us. But it's a dry forecast and we're underdogs which often suits us.

However nick a win, announce a couple of good signings early next week and peace may break out on this board. And certain posters might ease up on the club for a couple of hours and remember that a couple of months ago we were a top 4 side.

Why is it short term thinking? They’re improving their squad, gives them a year to either try and convince those players to stay or find alternatives. Bristol have been building to be champions ever since they targeted promotion, they clearly have a long term plan.

Both have signed long term contracts for Sarries, post the 1 season loan.

Some perspective is needed -- who had heard of Terry Fanaloa before he signed yet he turned out to be a legend so big names don't make the best signings.

Totally agree that Lansdown is going all out with his cheque book to win the premiership. Similar to John Hall many years ago at Newcastle with Rob Andrew etc

I think we are seeing the reality of where we are in the market.

We aren’t making money like Exeter.

We don’t have a owner who is prepared to pour millions and millions into the club.

The club in loosing money whilst we are spending up to the cap.

I think when SV was here, there was a drive to invest in the playing department, but since he’s left, we’ve heard David Humphreys talk about relying on the academy even more.

The club can’t continue to live beyond its means, or it may cease to exist.

I believe we’ve hit our attendance limit for the size of city we have, and therefore what the club income will be from ticket sales.

Add in that I think a lot of clubs will want to be whiter than white when it comes to reviewing salary spend, then we may need to start minding our expectations.

As for this season, I think the team is just trying too hard and not playing the percentages enough. They’re lacking patience and composure. Sort that out, get Slater back up to full speed and make him captain when Willi isn’t about and keep pressure on the other teams, not their selves.

Not exactly sure when glaws fans turned into such spoilt brats. I remember not so long ago when the fans were happy to see 15 lads giving their all for the shirt. It now seems many on here have ideas far beyond our station and you can sense it on match days and around the club.

Yeh we haven’t been great this season but so much of the negativity right now has come from the fans. Right now we should be bloody thankful and relieved that sarries are relegated and just concentrate on improving and not moaning at every single move YOUR CLUB makes.

Ideas above our station? Really? Should we be tugging our forelocks and doffing our caps when Exeter and Bristol rock up?

We're one of the few who have maintained top flight status since the start of professionalism with little in terms of tangible silverware.

We should aspire to be the best, we should aspire to have top players, top coaches, top facilities. Top flight sport is all about aspiration, there's nowt wrong with that.

You carry on with your inferiority complex, I want to see the club compete with the very best and beat them.

Agree with all of your points there, Pieman.

Fat taff, we aren’t the best, never have been in our history and that doesn’t mean we won’t be in the future but the point I am trying to put across is where has the arrogance come from on here? The club is making signings and rather than give these players a chance, they’re being rubbished before even pulling on the shirt.

As pieman states, we are where we are in the market- don’t have a billionaire owner and don’t have endless buckets of money. I think the club gambled over the last few years in terms of investment on the pitch and hoped we’d see more sell outs and although we did well last year on the pitch, we still weren’t exactly selling out every week. We are now struggling on the pitch and are seeing the result of that in terms of bums on seats. Sadly it’s not a case of waving a magic wand, bringing in unbelievable players and making it all go away.

Im just as frustrated as anyone else at how this season has gone and am not stupid enough to think everything is rosy, but what are we supposed to do? The club is clearly trying to sort it out and is coming across quite desperate in the process. Is it really going to help anyone at the club if the so called best fans in the league start turning on them now!?

I think for too long we have been a team with lots of star names, but don’t come together as a team as they should. Coaching is so important, the new defence coach is the most crucial signing we will make imho

After finishing 4th last season, with one of the teams above us consigned to the bottom of the table this year, I dont think it is unreasonable to find our position in the league very, very disappointing.

Sorry but I absolutely do not buy into the idea we should just shut up and be happy with mid to lower table mediocrity until the end of time. What kind of attitude is that? What does it tell the players? The club? Or even the kids who turn up to watch their heroes? Sorry, it's only Gloucester dont get your hopes up.

On the signings front I'm quietly hoping we might have bagged Lozowski, on the basis he has yet to be announced for anyone else...

I too want to be winning the league. I hate loosing at home and I am envious of clubs that are doing better for whatever reason.

What I’m saying is, is that we have to be sustainable. I’d be very happy to see superstar players turning out for Glos and we should aspire to bring those players in. But not at all costs. Not if it means that we go pop off the field financially.

If we had a multi billionaire glos supporter owner, maybe I’d be thinking differently.

But we don’t. And we have finite funds.

Just checking but haven't they signed new contracts now? Assume that Bristol will have to carry their full wages at the new rate for next year. I might be wrong, so am happy to be corrected if anyone knows definitively.

As to the question of whether I would want them on loan for one year, I'm not sure that I would as I'm not convinced that it would do the long term team building any good, however good they are for a season. Maybe if they were a quality TH I might change my tune!

Oh, and any idea how Sarries are going to fit all of their signings under the cap in 21/22 season (assuming they get promoted....). They still seem to have a squad packed full of internationals and Lions. Time will no doubt tell.
