Japan play such an attractive and positive form of rugby. I hope they win all their games now. Fully desrved to win against a dour and one dimensional Ireland. I feel sorry for Schmidt who deserves better. Scotland must be firm underdogs v Japan now.

Comfortable win for South Africa against Namibia (not surprising) but far too many mistakes made by them. Have to feel sorry for Namibia in that group, but they didn't give up.
A minor grouse, though. Not sure which French referee was officiating but at 57 minutes he awarded a penalty against the Namibian scrum half on their put in, for a crooked feed. It's the first penalty for crooked feed for many a month, and every scrum half does it at every put in. SA score a try from the penalty.
It may have been a technical penalty (listening to the referee after the penalty), but I would have thought a quiet word to the SH would have sufficed.
When you're down, everything seems to go against you!

Why feel sorry for Schmidt, Isn’t it his team and tactics?

Japan were brilliant, so exciting to watch.

Coincidence - Japan beat South Africa in 2015 and then played Scotland. They beat Ireland in 2019 and now play.....Scotland. Japan were blown away at Kingsholm in 2015, I really hope they do not suffer the same fate this time at home.

In 2015 @ Kingsholm it was Scotland's first match of the RWC, whereas Japan had a 4 day turnaround from beating SA in Brighton. Scotland had been based in Glos preparing for a good few days before the match. If both teams had played a match a week before who knows what the result might have been, because in 2015 it wasn't a level playing field for them.

Sorry Baylion I think that’s in poor taste. Thousands died on the Titanic, Ireland lost a game of rugby.

Must admit, both Baylion and Peanutcoxy caused me to chuckle but then I often find myself swimming against the tide.
