RWC19 "Stuff"
Re: RWC19 "Stuff"
I agree completely with what GM posted. Being realistic is fine but I, for one, will be unrealistically supporting England (in the same way the Welsh, Scots and Irish do for their national sides). It does not mean I expect England will win the RWC but they deserve my support.
Sure, I am disappointed for DC (and other, non Glaws players) but those chosen by EJ deserve, and will have, my wholehearted support.
Re: RWC19 "Stuff"
Oh dear identity is such a tricky thing isn’t it? Who am I? Who do I support? Born in a small Severnside village, been going to Kingsholm since the days of Teague, Gadd etc but….. My dad was from Perthshire and we went to Scotland on holiday at least once every year until I was old enough to refuse to go on holiday with my folks! So I have always found myself simply unable to support England. So what does that make me? A traitor to my club and/or country? Nah. Some sort of hybrid Anglo-Scot – nope! English – nope! Just someone who has multiple identities forged by my childhood; my school; my beliefs; my workplace – the list is endless! Supporting a sporting side is unquestionably part – but only part – of our identity. It is definitely not fixed by one thing only. To suggest otherwise is straying into some ‘interesting’ areas……
And my user 'name' is ironical btw.
Re: RWC19 "Stuff"
Well if you are supporting Scotland then the only chance they have of staying in Japan is if they have booked their return flights via Thomas Cook! ![]()

Exactly. I’m 100% behind England, but that doesn’t mean I think everything Jones does is right!
Re: RWC19 "Stuff"
I think the point was aimed at the Naysayers that everything EJ does is wrong. For last 6months all they’ve done on here is critise everything. Won’t get out the group etc etc. Now that prophecy hasn’t come true they are finding other reasons to be critical, almost clutching at straws. Constructive criticism ( as yours Leb and Steckers) largely is is fine. Criticism for criticism sake is tiresome. I can almost predict now some of the comments about Young’s performance on Saturday and could predict who they come from
Re: RWC19 "Stuff"
I love Shedweb!!!
I am also loving the RWC 2019, great stuff on free to air TV, what's not to love (apart from Nick Mullins obviously!
)
Re: RWC19 "Stuff"
Fair enough. Good point, well made N1E.
If only certain others were able to make their point without being gratuitously rude and provocative. I appreciate it’s only to get a reaction, but I find it childish and tiresome.

I thought the point of forums was for fans to debate subjects and to do so with respect to each others point of view not call each other names.
IMVHO opinion its good that players are given the freedom to change things on the field, the only problem is we all saw what happened against Wales in the 6N where were the leaders there, we have played two poor teams and a team of 14 so far, next up a team that can be brilliant one day and crap the next, lets see how we get on in the quarters against a higher quality team we will then have an idea to where we stand
