RWC19 "Stuff"
Re: RWC19 "Stuff"
Word Leb?...for someone that remembers hipsters were something you bought in Hepworths...I hope that it's a kindly sentiment ![]()
Re: RWC19 "Stuff"
Are some people really unable to distinguish between genuine racism and one country's supporters wanting another country to lose...at everything, on every possible occasion? Has Scottish and Welsh and Irish rugby fans' dislike of the English ever boiled over? Not in my recollection, and it won"t. Rugby tribalism is fine by me....and I've seen much worse written on here about other Premiership clubs and their supporters.

Re: RWC19 "Stuff"
Feel sorry for the people who I met in Japan with tickets for the France game but last weekend saw the damage a previous typhoon had done going through Kamakura. Cedar trees 2 feet in diameter had been snapped in half like match sticks.
Re: RWC19 "Stuff"
Couldn’t agree more about Farrell Fat Taff. I still can’t fathom how he was allowed to continue twice after Very heavy shoulders to the head. I think both referees should have insisted he go for HIA. So, in my opinion, should englands medical staff. Personally, if WR are serious about player welfare then TMO or independent doctor should step in. Any contact to head that is with force and player red carded other player should have mandatory HIA
Re: RWC19 "Stuff"
There will be an independent doctor at all Premiership games this season
Re: RWC19 "Stuff"
Got to feel for Italy. They would have had to have beaten New Zealand, but they no longer even have the chance to try. Especially sad for Ghiraldini, as it was set to be the last match of his career.
Re: RWC19 "Stuff"
Speaking from a Welsh perspective (and thus admittedly myopic), and certainly without wishing the serious ghastliness of a typhoon on anyone or anything, and I don't see how it could logistically be/have been managed, but in the interests of parity it would be/have been very good if we too could have/have had an extra week to recover/prepare for the Quarterfinals.
But hey-ho.
Just musing.
Per ardua ad astra, boys!
Re: RWC19 "Stuff"
The cancellation of the England v France game may be a mixed blessing.
It gives an extra week's rest in time for the quarter-final and allows for the possible recovery of injured players such as Billy Vunipola. However, for various reasons, England has not really been tested thus far. So, England may be undercooked for the quarter-final match be it against Australia or Wales.
Re: RWC19 "Stuff"
Italy now out of the tournament due to cancellations. We all know they probably would have lost but can't help but feel that world rugby have made a bad decision here. They can have contingency plans for the knock out phase but not the group phase? This world cup is fast losing credibility
Re: RWC19 "Stuff"
Clearly a great shame for the fans and players. However this was always on the cards as we are in the middle of Typoon season and it was always a strong chance that some games would be affected. The time to make a fuss was a year or so ago when the planning was being done and to insist on a contingency plan. I assume no one did from the competing nations and WR. EJ was banging on about this possiblilty months ago in the Eng preparation so everyone was warned.
Still a shame for all those affected.
