Glad it’s on; and especially for the travelling fans.

While this is a success for rugby and the tournament this episode will remain a stain on Scottish rugby for some considerable time regardless of the outcome of the game.

I hope both teams have been able to retain their focus during the build up.

My sister and brother-in-law have been in Japan now for nearly 2 weeks. They were confined to their hotel room for the last 24 hours, living on the Japanese equivalent of pot noodles and local beer! I just got a WhatsApp message this morning saying they had never experienced the 15th floor of a hotel sway so much coupled with watching their pot noodles slide across the table top as the 5.7 hit!

They saw the England-Argentina game, but they lost the England-France game that they paid and travelled to see. They are now heading for the England quarter-finals.

I hope you are not suggesting that any country signed the agreement without reading ALL the details. :o :o

ALL the regulations are "small print" in reality.

I had huge sympathy for the Scottish players and fans and am really glad the game versus Japan looks like it will go ahead.

The stance taken by the Scottish Rugby authorities, however, has tarnished their reputation and was, in my view, just plain silly sour grapes.

Loved Tonga's win over the USA. Well matched teams produced a good game to watch

I suspect it was sign or you can’t participate - in effect Hobson’s choice, a bit like our participation in the PRC.

Certainly not in the small print. I and I suspect many others found it quickly enough. However it's good the match is back on. I was also pleased to see that the Canadian squad are helping out in the clear up operation after their match v Namibia was cancelled. Unfortunately the death toll is 16 so far.

Wales and Uruguay so far making the Premiership Rugby Cup look top class!

BTW, what's the point in mentioning the death toll from the hurricane? More than three times that number have died so far in Turkey's incursion into Syria, and twice that number die every week on Britain's roads. Mangkhut last year killed four times that number. All of these things are tragic for those involved, but I'm not sure of their relevance on a rugby forum.

In fairness to Uruguay you can only play what you are up against

A gutsy performance from Uruguay and the final score flattered a fairly dysfunctional Wales.

GS, death under any circumstances can be a tragedy for those concerned, whether victim, family or population in general. It's quite clear the context in which the '16' have been included on this forum, which was also duly recognised before today's matches.

An important and respectful tribute to the wonderful host country. I don’t like minute’s silences when they’re not needed. But this was needed.
