Quiet day for Slade then

They could play Slade at inside centre when they have the ball in attack, and have Tuilagi at 12 for defensive plays. Not novel but would play to certain strengths.

My issue with seeing Farrell at 10 is, does he have a plan B up his sleeve should England be struggling or loosing by a small margin. If loosing by a bigger margin, I don't think Australia will relinquish the lead. I wish England well and hope they play to their potential of being one of the favourites
I presume plan b is bring Ford off the bench
With Joseph. A good plan B.
Re: RWC19 "Stuff"
Really looking forward to this weekends WC rugby. For what it is worth, here is my predictions for the results:
Australia v England - narrow win for England
NZ V Ireland - walloping win for NZ
Wales v France - a resoundingly glorious 1 point win for Wales with a 79 min drop goal!
Well seriously, I think a win for Wales by a fair few points
Japan v SA - Easy win for SA

I agree. Talk of Ireland beat NZ recently and Japan on a wave and defeated South Africa four years ago but I just don’t see repeats.
England v NZ
Wales v S.Af.
Re: RWC19 "Stuff"
I expect NZ, SA, and Wales to win.
The other game is too tight to call. I was there when Oz stuffed us in 2015 to knock us out, so maybe I'm being too pessimistic!
Re: RWC19 "Stuff"
Just a thought but could we un-sticky this thread.
It always stays at the top of the page despite there being more recent stuff about Glaws, it gives the impression that it is more important which it clearly isn't. ![]()

In order of confidence I have about picking results
1st - NZ Vs Ireland. I haven't seen anything from Ireland in the last 6 months to suggest they are going to beat NZ in a world cup quarter final.
2nd - SA vs Japan. I think Japan may have unloaded the tank emotionally last weekend, given the circumstances around what it took to get the game on, and SA will be absolutely determined not to be beaten by them for the second WC in a row.
3rd England Vs Australia. My heart and my head say England but not by much. The battle of the back row should be fantastic to watch but think we will have too much in the end.
4th Wales Vs France. The cliche about not knowing what France will turn up is as boring as it is true. Everything about the form book says Wales so the French will probably turn up and play out of their skins to win it but really I can't call this one. Hope the Welsh lose as always but that is said with my red rose tinted specs firmly on my head.
Re: RWC19 "Stuff"
England, NZ, Wales and SA probable winners BUT always expect the unexpected …………….and therefore could end up being Oz, Ireland, France and Japan !!
Would stick with England, NZ, Wales and SA.
Just hope that a controversial/debatable red card/TMO call doesn't mar any of the QF matches.
