RWC19 "Stuff"
Re: RWC19 "Stuff"
The other 4 quarter finalists must be thinking Thank God we will not be competing to play against N.Z. in the semi finals.
England will need a huge performance.
Re: RWC19 "Stuff"
Ireland are very fortunate that Scotland didn't turn up for their group game. They don't look like a team worthy of a QF place.
Re: RWC19 "Stuff"
Yes. It would seem that NZ are still a notch up on the next three of Eng/ Wal and SA who could play in an exciting three way pool comp. Hard to see anyone beating NZ when on form.
Re: RWC19 "Stuff"
Ireland have been very poor but New Zealand have been excellent.
Next week will be incredibly tough but the winner of that game must fancy their chances to win the whole thing.
Re: RWC19 "Stuff"
New Zealand were good but I'm not sure if you can read too much into things as Ireland were woeful.
I'd like to think that England will be a whole lot better opposition next weekend. Did think there were a few things for England to take from the game as well, scrums for example didnt look that good.
If you're going to win this thing then surely australia, NZ then the Boks three weeks running is the way to do it. Oh, sorry, forgot Wales ...
Re: RWC19 "Stuff"
It is clear from this WC that whilst defence is still very important it is not enough. It is now key to score 4-5 tries to win the top games. That is where I suspect Eng/ NZ will triumph in a final. Wales average -2 and SA -3 . Eng and NZ are 4 and 5.
However only time will tell. ![]()
Re: RWC19 "Stuff"
Ireland didn’t play well at all although NZ were incredible at times. The number of options they have in attack is simply frightening. Most teams play one or two option plays, there were four or five options every time today and that was wonderful to watch.
England did much better than I had expected but similarly Australia were far too deep and looked a mere shadow of what they were.
Impossible to know how next week will pan out but I am looking forward to it immensely!
Re: RWC19 "Stuff"
Well played England, and well done to New Zealand. Australia did absolutely everything they could, but lacked a killer instinct, England took their chances well. Thats got to be one of the best All Black performances at a world cup. Sets up a tasty semi (innuendo intended)

Eddie Jones praised Jonny May after England's win today. He was also optimistic that he should be fit for semi-final after injury scare: http://bit.ly/JonesPraiseForMay
