RWC19 "Stuff"
Re: RWC19 "Stuff"
Nowell and May seemingly fit. Eddie is going to fool the ABs with his masterstroke he's been planning for 3 years...Watson is the REAl fullback ![]()
Re: RWC19 "Stuff"
GS - I don't have a problem with the gist of your counter model. I would get a WR edict on th emax number of hours of rugby for any player in a season with a mandatory "time off" gap between seasons. that gap could vary between players ( i.e. countries)
If the max hours are reduced to a sensiblw much lower level then the issue of playing more games each month reduces as you would get more rest time later on. The 6 Nats needs to evolve to 2 divs and if the top one subsidises the lower one then that is the price of progress. Japan have shown that progress is possible if you are given exposure . I think the tier 2 teams need support and encouragement. Scotalnd v Italy would make more sense if relegation was on the table.
Re: RWC19 "Stuff"
A fairly simple short-term solution would be to use the Autumn internationals to feature more Tier 2 nations and reduce the number of times England, for example, play NZ, Australia and SA. Across the 6 Nations countries there would be a significant increase in the number of games for Japan, USA, Tonga, Samoa, Fiji, Georgia etc. Worried about filling Twickenham or Murrayfield for some of these fixtures? Play them in the regions, set sensible ticket prices and give the Tier 2 nation involved a decent divi of the revenue.

That all sound very sensible, but theres one reason it won't happen. ££££££££££££££££

The AI's generate money for the RFU which goes straight back into funding English clubs - including Premiership clubs - and for the visiting Top Tier visitors who are desperate for the income that their tours make for them to be used back home.
IF the AI's are against Tier 2 countries the necessary amounts of money simply won't be generated.
Your idea is a good one LoA but simply doesn't stack up.
GS - we have read your 5N idea so many times on here and TRP that you are starting to sound like a broken record !!

I'm sure you've all seen the picture of Jaco Peyper with the Wales fans but you might not know that Serge Simon is now pretty high up in the French Rugby Federation and unsurprisingly he's not very happy about it: http://bit.ly/PeyperPictureRow
And it looks like Jonny May will be fit for the semi-final: http://bit.ly/EnglandInjuriesNZ
Wouldn't be that keen to tell Serge Simon that he's a "snowflake" BUT c'mon !! Where will all this PC stuff ever end ?? Apparently JP did same later on with French supporters - who all thought it tres amusant.
Re: RWC19 "Stuff"
Simple...his mimicry of the red card elbow is disgraceful. I’m with SS, bloke wants hanging out to dry. A referee at this level has to be beyond reproach and he falls well short.
Re: RWC19 "Stuff"
Barnes to get the final if England lose....?
No, they'll definitely give it to Owens
