RWC19 "Stuff"

The pack were just amazing - so dominant. And EJ deserves a lot of praise. England were tactically perfect.
Thought Youngs had a cracker - and Heinz played very well when he came on.
I thought the reffing and TMO were excellent. Linos missed a few obvious forward passes but hey ho. No one is perfect
Re: RWC19 "Stuff"
A few forward passes? Maybe generous. With 4 people out there - isn't one forward pass (that is a metre forward) too many.
I thought Owens deferred to the TMO too easily (unusual for him). I thought both tries were good - but the Underhill try is a definite score for me.

Quite agree. Best I have ever seen them play.
Congrats England and you were robbed on the first disallowed try, officials got it wrong as AB initiated contact.
Re: RWC19 "Stuff"
A superb team performance by England that just executed everything almost perfectly all game. NZ just simply did not have an answer to the England intensity......without doubt one of the best England performances ever I would say.
Underhill try rightly disallowed....Young's try....a tough call......but 99.9% of the time that is a try in any other game I would imagine but this RWC is under intense TV scrutiny.
Now just make my day complete and win Glaws!!!!….although the conditions and weather are bloody awful!!!
Re: RWC19 "Stuff"
Not always been a fan of some of Jones' selections and management decisions in the past but credit where credit is due he has masterminded an extremely comprehensive victory this morning. All 23 on script and the All Blacks looked clueless by the end and how often can you say that. Need to back it up with similar level of intensity and execution next week and it won't matter who we play.
We all watch the same match but each of us sees a different game

A few comments
- England played very very well. However that performance has been coming and the big difference was that they made fewer handling errors than in recent games.
- They had a game plan to suit the opposition as they have done in so many games. . For once Eng had everyone available ( just about) and thus were able to play to their potential This has rarely been the case int he last 24 months.
- As in so many tests the losing team didn't look so cleaver BECAUSE they were on the back foot. NZ played as well as Eng allowed them to. They were robbed on the ground and tackled hard. It is very difficult to look good when that happens.
- I hope other follow Leb and are prepared to admit that EJ might just have known what he was doing after all. He always maintained his goal was the WC. The games leading up were part of that path. His selections were probably all in preparation and learning for the last 5 games. His track record alone indicates he is no mug and it takes a few lost skirmishes to win a war.
- If you look at the path of the Eng World ranking and the NZ one since 2003 this last month is the first time in 16 yrs that England have been within a few points so the trend was always coming this way.
- Lets hope next W/E is a good close game . England will have to go to the well again as will the oppo's.

You are quite right, just looked at stills of the action, Curry was in front of Sinkler
Re: RWC19 "Stuff"
Genuinely the outcome was never in doubt after the England try. ABs were made to look lethargic and slow, putting big Barrett in the back row made them look even more pedestrian.
They had one play in the England 22m in the first half and and one play with the England 5m in the whole match.
Fantastic play from the lads, again from Youngs who appeared to be dithering but was being given some rubbish ball and his playmakers were continuously out of position making things difficult for him.
TMO referrals should have been labelled please give me any reason not to give England a try......did the three blind mice referee the offside line and the forward passes? No...they were there to listen to the Nigel Owens show....time to hang up the whistle indeed.
I'm sure MItchell is the unsung hero of this destruction of the ABs and turning WR upside down....and the architect of putting EJ back on track albeit at the last minute.
Well played England....and to all my Welsh friends , we kept our side of the bargain now it's your turn. Then we can really decide which is the best team in the world on neutral turf.
Re: RWC19 "Stuff"
Congrats England
Such a dominant display and completely outplayed the ABs.
But with so many players hobbling off the field will the be ready for the final? Or was this their final?
